Administrative / Biographical History

Established in 1948 and disbanded in 1974, the Glasgow South–Western Hospitals Board of Management was responsible for the Southern General Hospital, David Elder Infirmary, Elder Cottage Hospital and Shieldhall Hospital. Its successor was the South Western District of the Greater Glasgow Health Board.
