Letters between Miss Treharne, a teacher at Purton School, and Alf E. Green. Miss Treharne requests to know when the duties of the teachers would terminate and when their salaries should be made out to, as well as other queries related to the termination of the teacher's contracts and their removal from the school. There are also letters from Mr Green to a Nellie and a Miss Richardson, informing them of the closure of the school and requesting that they go to teach and study, respectively, at the Ashley Down orphan houses.
