Rev. David Jones, Treborth Photocopies

Scope and Content

Photocopies of letters written by Rev. David Jones, Treborth to Lewis Edwards of Y Bala, J. Williams of Llannerch-y-medd, Richard Jones and Rev. W. Morris of Rhuddlan, dating from 1841 to 1863. They include references to the early days of Y Traethodydd and Y Drysorfa, as well as the attraction of America to the Welsh.

Administrative / Biographical History

Rev. David Jones, Treborth, came originally from Dolwyddelan, Caernarfonshire. On his death in 1868, a sermon was preached in remembrance of him at Pendref Chapel, Caernarfon by Rev. David Roberts, entitled Faithful Servant.
