Kirklees Advisory Panel for Archaeology KAPA

This is a bound volume of reports covering the years from meeting No. 1 in 1976 through to one, No. 28 dated 26th June 1980. At meeting 29 which produced report No. 28 an intention was stated that the next meeting was scheduled for the 16th October 1980 and thereafter the group would meet every two months on the third Thursday.

It is not known if KAPA continued and for how long.

21.01.1976 Inaugural meeting to review archaeological and historic society activities in Kirklees.

19.02.1976 Report No. 2 agrees the KAPA title and reviews the Interim Report on the Archaeological Implications of Development published January 1976 and bound into this volume.

15.06.1978 Report No. 25 considers the formation of a new Local Studies Workshop to encourage an interest in local studies.

21.09.1976 Report No. 26 announced that the inaugural meeting of the Huddersfield Local History Workshop was scheduled for 27.09.1976.

1965 - A Lancashire Lion by James L. Maxim (on the causeway over Blackstone Edge). 79 pp including drawings, plates and site plans

1975 - a Schedule of Buildings...of special architectural or historic interest within Kirkleees. By Kirklees MBC Planning Division of the Directorate of Architecture, Planning & Development. Approx. 112 un-numbered pages, in 4 parts.
