This file contains papers created by Geoffrey and Gertrude Jefferson during and shortly after their time in Russia, including correspondence, official documents, draft reports and a photograph. These items were probably gathered together by Antony Jefferson to lend to Michael Harmen in preparation for his book; many are annotated by Michael Harmen. There are also typescript extracts from letters from Geoffrey to Gertrude, prepared by Michael Harmen from a dictation by Antony Jefferson. These extracts, along with the draft reports, give insight into the conditions for surgeons working on the Eastern Front during the First World War.
