Leather spine with the remnants of leather ties. Dated 29th March, 1728, to 21st September, 1797

Administrative / Biographical History

Peterhead Trades Society was constituted in 1728. The Society was a charitable insurance association of local traders, set up to provide for members and their families. The Society was still in operation in 1815, when mentioned by James Arbuthnot Jnr. in his volume "An Historical Account of Peterhead".
