Administrative / Biographical History
Peterhead Trades Society was constituted in 1728. The Society was a charitable insurance association of local traders, set up to provide for members and their families. The Society was still in operation in 1815, when mentioned by James Arbuthnot Jnr. in his volume "An Historical Account of Peterhead".
The collection is open to access by appointment. Please note: the item is very fragile and care must be taken when handled. Book rests and snake weights are available.
