The letters Joan Barton received from Walter De La Mare were bequeathed by her to Dick Davis, with whom she had a close relationship later in her life. It is thought that Dick Davis took the original letters to the US and may have sold them. Their current whereabouts are unknown, despite a search by Mary Michaels.
