Administrative / Biographical History

Robert Thomson Hutcheson was born in 1903 in Glasgow and was educated at Hutchesons' Grammar School and the University of Glasgow, graduating MA 1925 and PhD 1929, as well as being awarded an honorary LLD in 1975. He was appointed as a junior member of academic staff at the University in 1920 and became Registrar then Secretary of Court, a post which he held from 1942-1974.
