Little biographical information was available regarding Idris Davies at time of compilation of description. He was born in 1907 and lived at 9 Pen-y-bryn, Bethesda, Caernarfonshire. He died in 1975.

Donated by Dr John Llywelyn Williams, former warden of Sir John Morris Jones Hall, University of Wales Bangor. He received the item from Martin Eckley, Librarian of Harlech College.
