Revd. Charles Parrott, rector of Wootton founded this school in 1787 to pay for the education of 12 poor boys. In 1835-36 a new school was built which housed both day schools. From 1842 infants were also taught and in 1853 a new infant's school was built by the trustee's of Parrott's charity. The old infant's school was turned into the schoolmaster's house. In 1942 the school was re-organised. Senior children went to Woodstock whilst juniors and infants remained at Wootton. Please see S299/1 for other records of this school.
