Yarnton School was built in 1875 with a new wing added in 1910. In 1932 the school was reorganised as a junior school. New premises were built on Rutten Lane in 1956 to house the upper two junior classes. As the numbers grew a new school the William Fletcher County Primary School was opened on this site in 1971.
