Correspondence, most of which is addressed to Rev. David Hughes from Methodist preachers, 1850-1880's.

Tables consisting of details of the preaching career of David Hughes from 1843-1890 - dates, places, subject and donation.

A register of christenings, burials and weddings conducted by David Hughes from 1857 - 1892 at various chapels including Capel Sion, Bryneglwys, Denbighshire.

Script consisting of stories of preachers, witty sayings, wise remarks, quotes from sermons etc.

Administrative / Biographical History

Rev. David Hughes, a Calvinistic Methodist minister at Bryneglwys, Denbighshire and Corwen, Merioneth died on 24 March 1893. He preached for 50 years, a total of 8092 times. He had two sons, Rev. J. Elias Hughes and Dr Medwyn Hughes, Rhuthun.

Deposited by Miss Myfanwy Thomas in 1940. She was an art lecturer at the Education Department of the University of Wales Bangor.
