Manuscript letter. Written from Coign, Woking. Dated 4 Sep 1924. Writing to Millicent Garrett Fawcett to ask her help 'to raise a little fund towards another performance of the Mass'. Explains that 'Every concert society is going bankrupt owing to tennis, cheap cars, charabancs, cinema, dancing, madness and so on - and henceforth the Messiah and Elgar will be the only adornments of Choral Programmes (except the works of the conductor of course)!!' Has arranged with the Royal Choral Society for a performance on the Mass on 15 Nov, and wants advice on how to raise money.
