Scope and Content

Manuscript notes, ten sheets and two smaller sheets, for a speech at Cardiff, May 9 1916. Starts by recalling contributions made by Cardiff women to the war effort. Makes an appeal for women to be employed to their full capacity, both now and after the war. Not to do so is a 'waste of national resources on a gigantic scale, the worst kind of national extravagance which we ought all to determine to uproot from among us'. Talks about campaign against waste. Lists reason for saving, and gives examples.
