The collection contains a copy of 'The Emancipation of Englishwomen' by W Lyon Blease (London, Constable and Company, 1910) within which is a letter from Emily Davis to Millicent Garrett Fawcett dated 26 May 1911 and notes in the hand of ED picking up and correcting points made in Blease's text. The letter deals in particular with the author's description of women's entry into higher education, and his treatment of Sophia Jex-Blake and Elizabeth Garrett Anderson's efforts to study medicine.
