Manuscript letter. No address or date. Much of the letter is illegible: 'I shall do anything in my power for one who was a friend of your dear sister. I have been trying however for a long time to get employment for a cousin of mine who is also extremely clever' 'I wish Mr Fawcett would take up the subject of wife murder and its proper punishments. A shoemaker has just been convicted at Marylebone of "feloniously assaulting with intent to kill" his wife - cutting open her temporal artery - and for this Mr ..[?].. has sentenced him to a fine of £10!'.
