Manuscript letter, 2 pages. Written from Albemarle Street. Dated 9 May 1924. Millicent Garrett Fawcett's letter places him in a difficult position, because if he publishes her letter he will in fairness need to ask Morgan to reply. He proposes instead to insert the following statement in the next edition: 'I learn with much regret that the anecdote about the late Rt Honourable Henry Fawcett on p.348 of the April no. of the Quarterly Review has given pain to Mrs Fawcett and the members of his family. Mrs Fawcett denies the truth of the story and I readily give publicity to her denial. Ed, QR.'
