Letter: Owen Owens, 'Jane Gray', Aberdeen to Captain Jones, Amlwch

Scope and Content

LETTER: Owen Owens, 'Jane Gray', Aberdeen to Captain Jones, Amlwch. He has made an offer to Mr. Ward for coming to Amlwch which was not agreeable to him. The Captain of the schooner 'Planet of Never' said that he saw the 'Catherine Williams' and that her top masts were carried away and that she went through the Caledonia Canal. He agrees to take 325 for his shares of the 'Catherine Williams' as he does not think Thomas Owen will be able to. The sea at Portland Firth was like mountains. He would have been in Aberdeen the same day as the 'Savant' and 'Catherine Williams' only he was delayed 8 hours due to gales.
