Letter from William Grey (1819-72) to his father Rev Harry Grey. W.G. is returning to Newfoundland Island from a voyage along the Labrador coast of Canada, as far north as Sandwich Bay. Describes the coastal scenery, geology, fauna and climate. Discusses at length the appearance and customs of the Eskimo or Innuit people who live along the coast. French Island Harbour is full of fishing boats in summer, but is deserted in winter.
