Scope and Content

Account of money disbursed by John Davenport, schoolmaster, on Seamon's Moss School, for the year 1812. Items of expenditure include spelling books, copy books, pens, ink, fire money, testaments, bibles, ciphering books and arithmetic books for each named scholar, and schoolmaster's salary and gratuity. Enclosed are 2 bills and corresponding receipts for payment from Mary Dean, draper, for supply of cloth and bedding to Lord Stamford, 13 December 1812.

Attached is a receipt from John Davenport for £57 18s 2d paid by [George Harry Grey (1737-1819), 5th] Earl of Stamford by the hand of Isaac Worthington, 24 November 1812.
