Account of oats and beans supplied to and used at the Stables at Dunham Massey Hall. The volume was probably compiled by the farming steward at Dunham Massey. Left-hand pages record receipts of oats and beans, giving dates and quantities (in bushels). Right-hand pages record the consumption of oats and beans, giving dates, quantities and purposes, e.g. "to the groom", "to the park keeper", "to the coachman". Total amounts received and used are calculated at the end of each year. Entries end one-quarter way through the volume.
Enclosed in the opening for August 1847 is a loose inventory of equipment and tackle in the Stables, 1847. Enclosed inside the front cover is a note, "5 Old Stock Books Received from Mr [William Henry] Heywood [agent] August 1859".
