The bundle contains correspondence relating to the disputed liability for the cost of erecting street lamps in Viaduct Road at Broadheath in Altrincham, and for making repairs to the road. The liability was disputed between the London & North Western Railway Company and the Stamford Trustees, who were beneficial users of the railway arches along the road.
The correspondence was between W.D. Bullock at the Stamford Estate Office in Altrincham, Edward Mackie, land and estate agent of the L.N.W.R., Messrs Bower, Cotton & Bower of London, solicitors to the Stamford Trustees, W[illiam] S. Stokoe, clerk to Altrincham Urban District Council, and Francis Wiswall of the Manchester Ship Canal Company, Bridgewater Department.
The bundle also contains copies of earlier correspondence found in bundle EGR14/15/12 above.
