Frances Ann Trevelyan, wife of George Treveylan and daughter of Lieut. Col. James Lumsden and his wife Lydia, received several letters concerning social, personal and family matters. The majority of pieces within bundle EGR6/4/5 are letters to Mrs Trevelyan from the Bishop of Oxford, Henry John Liddon, R.M. Benson and her husband. The bundle also contains a letter from John Elphinstone to James Grant Lumsden, two letters to "Nellie" (Mary Ellen Lumsden), and miscellaneous Lumsden family papers.
EGR6/4 also contains three letters from James Grant Lumsden to his friend Hill Wickham, which were presumably returned to the Lumsden family at a later date by Wickham himself, or by his relations or executors (EGR6/4/1-3). There is a single letter from James Grant Lumsden to his children (EGR6/4/6) and a letter from Harry Lumsden to Miss Edith Lumsden (EGR6/4/8), as well as an extract from a newspaper (EGR6/4/7), notes on the Lumsden family (EGR6/4/9), a photograph (EGR6/4/10), and two lists (EGR6/4/11-12).
