Scope and Content

The series comprises of the following items: an account book, recording the personal, household and estate income and expenditure of George Harry Grey (1765-1845), Lord Grey, later 6th Earl of Stamford, 1784-1817 (EGR4/2/6/1); a sheet of paper containing particulars of a will, 1814 (EGR4/2/6/2); a bundle of financial papers, including receipts for payments of interest on bonds by the 6th Earl of Stamford, 1819-45 (EGR4/2/6/3); a bundle of papers relating to Sir John Chetwode's marriage settlement, of which Lord Stamford was a trustee, 1823-5 (EGR4/2/6/4); correspondence relating to Lord Stamford's trusteeship of the marriage settlement of Rev Richard Farrer, 1824 (EGR4/2/6/5); a bundle of accounts for the cost of making a new settlement of Lord Stamford's estates upon the marriage of his son, 1825 (EGR4/2/6/6); bundles of vouchers for goods purchased by Lord Stamford from London tradesmen for Dunham Massey Hall, 1834-43 (EGR4/2/6/7-13); and a bundle of papers relating to a loan of £1000 made by Lord Stamford to Trafford Trafford esq, 1839-45 (EGR4/2/6/14).
