Scope and Content

Letter from John Corry to Lord Stamford (/21), dated 16 March 1820. He has found several minor errors in the "little work" he dedicated to Lord Stamford, which he will correct in a second edition [probably John Corry, History of Macclesfield (London: J. Ferguson, 1817)]. If Lord Stamford disapproves of any passages, these will be omitted. He will be happy to present six complimentary copies to Lord Stamford. Also asks Lord Stamford to provide a letter of introduction so that J.C. may carry out research for his History of Lancashire [John Corry, History of Lancashire (London: George Whittaker, 1825)].

Enclosed is a printed prospectus for, and list of subscribers to, the History of Lancashire (/22).

Dated at: Macclesfield (/21).
