Scope and Content

Lessee: Richard Starkey of Agden farmer.

Property: a messuage and tenement in [Dunham] Woodhouses to. Dunham Massey, now in the occupation of Mary Coleby widow, and fields or parcels of land thereto belonging in Woodhouses called the Janney Field, the Barn Field, the Nearer Bean Field, the Further Bean Field, the two Glebe Crofts, the two Cadmans Crofts, the Drinkwaters Croft, the Oular Dole and the Little Braddy (12 a.).

Term: 7 years.

Rent: £50, payable on 25 March and 11 November; also £5 for every acre above 1 close ploughed in any year during the term.

Clauses: lessee is to keep watch and ward, work in the highways, and serve all offices respecting the premises; lessee is to keep 1 hound for the use of Booth Grey; lessee is to prune and nail the wall trees growing on the premises; lessee is to provide materials for thatching, and serve the thatcher when required; husbandry clauses re ploughing, sowing with clover, mowing; lessee is not to fell or damage timber trees.
