Scope and Content

The bundle contains papers relating to an exchange of lands at Broadheath in Altrincham between the Stamford Trustees and the Linotype Company Ltd.

The bundle comprises correspondence between W.D. Bullock at the Stamford Estate Office in Altrincham, Henry Hall at the Stamford Estate Office in Ashton under Lyne, Sir Thomas Wright of Leicester, solicitor to the Countess of Stamford & Warrington, and Messrs Bullock, Worthington & Jackson of Manchester, solicitors for the Company; a summary agreement for the exchange; and 2 large plans of the proposed exchange and surrounding lands in Broadheath.
