Scope and Content

The bundle contains invoices from John Barratt of Altrincham, maltster, grocer and brandy merchant, to Mrs Iveson [housekeeper at Dunham Massey Hall], on behalf of George Harry Grey (1765-1845), 6th Earl of Stamford. Articles purchased include tea, sugar, mustard, dried fruit, almonds, peas, anchovies, oil, vinegar, salt, condiments and spices, sago, pearl barley and rice, beeswax, ochre, black lead, clay, sandpaper, mops and brushes, thread, twine, paper and soap.
