The volume records the distribution of gifts of venison from Dunham Park. Venison was given to members of the family, members of the Cheshire gentry and aristocracy, figures in the local community, and other friends and associates of the Earl of Stamford. In addition to the dates and the names and addresses of the recipients, there are abbreviations indicating the types of cut distributed.
On the inside back cover is a rough pencil sketch of a four-wheeled travelling coach.
