Monk's lists of horses entered for Chester races in May 1821 and May 1822. The 6th Earl of Stamford had several horses entered at each meeting. Both lists are annotated with covering letters from Benjamin Monk of Chester to Robert Cooke, dated 4 May 1821 and 10 June 1822. In both letters Monk discusses possible diversions and excursions in the event of Cooke's visiting England in the summer.
Both lists are folded, sealed and addressed to "Robert Cooke esq | Mullingar | Ireland". They are annotated in pencil "No. 3" and "No. 4" respectively.
