Letter

Scope and Content

From Sir Peter Warburton to [Mary Countess of Stamford], expressing fears that if the Duke of Bridgewater takes powers to set up corn-mills and warehouses, "he may command all the Grain grown within several miles of his Canal, along the whole extent of it & by that means become master of the Corn-trade and markets of Warrington, Liverpool and Manchester". Hopes that M.C.S. will not withdraw her petition if the Duke does not concede the point.
