Letter from Percy Macquoid to Lord Stamford (/22). Encloses the account of Rashleigh Phipps & Co. for electrical fittings at Dunham Massey Hall [EGR7/20/13/6 below]. He is sorry that the switches in the Saloon were placed in so conspicuous a position. "Rashleigh Phipps have carried out my wishes in taste & I hope those of yourself & Lady Stamford - there is nothing more serious than taste in electric fittings & a nice room is often spoilt by unsuitable fittings."
Also encloses his account for fees charged by him (/23), being 7.5% on Rashleigh Phipps's bill; total: £21 15s. Annotated with a note of receipt, dated 25 November.
Also sends Lady Stamford a recipe for obtaining a surface to a mahogany, oak or rosewood dining table that will resist heat, hot water, and damp of any kind [the main ingredient being elbow grease] (/24).
Dated at: Crowood, Ramsbury, Hungerford [co. Wilts].
