Scope and Content

Catalogue of the library of Georg Kloss, written in the hand of Friedrich Neumetzer. 2 vols, 45 x 28 cm. Bookplates of Georgius Kloss, M.D., Francofurti ad Moenum. The catalogue is arranged according to provenance in five groups, the first four of which are in alphabetical order. The versos are blank, except for occasional additions. Text is in seven columns across the page: reference, author and title, size, place of publication, date, and two columns for notes, mostly left blank, but with occasional references, perhaps to another catalogue, as there are occasional notes `Incognita'. Handwriting is in roman script for Latin books (the majority) and French books, German script for German books. Folios are numbered in pencil, presumably at a later date. The first volume has 148 folios; the second has 192 folios.
