The inquiry aims were to consider and report upon the wider social and economic consequences of the decision to run down UCS. The inquiry took place over seven days between 1 September and 20 October 1971. Each report booklet covers a specific day of the public inquiry. The inquiry was chaired by Professor Raymond Illsley, Frank Cousins and George Perry.
