Transcription of shorthand notes of an inquiry held at Conway Workhouse on October 4th 1899

Guardians of the workhouse present:

Daniel Phillips (Chairman), P.H. McClement, J. Roger Dawson, Hugh Owen, Robert Ellis, Edward Thorpe, David Jones, G.C. Jones, D.R. Davies, Thomas Abram, J.E. Fincham and Mrs Coulton

Also present:

Mr T.E. Parry (Clerk), Mr James Porter, solicitor, representing Dr R. Arthur. Prichard, Mr J.R. Dew, solicitor, representing the Workhouse Master and Arthur W. McDermid, shorthand writer from Bangor.

The inquiry concerned an allegation of inappropriate behaviour made by the workhouse Master, Mr Jones, against the workhouse doctor, Dr Prichard and concerning the workhouse nurse, Miss Stalford. Dr Prichard was exonerated of any misconduct.
