From A. Stanley Cooke to JHN. Cooke writes of their shared enthusiasm for the illustrator R[andolph] Caldecott [Caldecott's first published sketches appeared in the Sphinx magazine, the literary journal edited by JHN from Jul 1868 until Oct 1871]. Cooke is trying to trace a magazine that Caldecott contributed to, the Will o' the Wisp, and seeks JHN's advice. He also sends JHN three photographic portraits of Caldecott taken in Brighton in 1879 [these photographs remain with the letters].
Dated at: Brighton [Sussex].
