Scope and Content

The file contains Theatre Projects Consultants Ltd correspondence regarding hearing loops (audio induction loops) [which were installed by Pye Business Communications Ltd]. Topics covered include how to install them; how they work; unsatisfactory and uneven coverage and interference with other communications systems and how to rectify it; installation and remedial work costs; whether this is an issue for just the National Theatre or whether all Pye Business Communications Ltd installations have faults; and whether Philips Ltd, their parent company, will fix it. Correspondents include the Royal National Institute for the Deaf; the National Theatre; the South Bank Theatre Board; Wakefield Tricycle Company Ltd; Marks and Spencer Ltd; Stevenage Committee for the Hard of Hearing; Plessey Telecommunications Research Ltd / Plessey Telecommunications & Office Systems Ltd; Pye Business Communications Ltd; and Philips Ltd.
