The file includes correspondence with enclosures and notes on meetings between Theatre Projects Consultants Ltd, the National Theatre and various contractors regarding a wide range of project issues, including the drum revolve; whether the stage equipment is ready for the Theatre's use; how close the contractors are to completion; indemnity insurance; the agreed opening date; general facility panels; production lighting controls; a summary of the situation with Mole-Ricardson (Stage & Studio Engineering) Ltd, Evershed Power-Optics Ltd and Hall Stage Equipment Ltd; salaries; problems with Vickers; stage lift contractors; stage installations completions; a lightboard computer fault; the reputation of Theatre Projects Consultants Ltd abroad as a result of the Theatre's technical problems; and basic and overtime hours. Correspondents include Mark Harrison (Arts Council / the South Bank Theatre Board); the National Theatre; Theatre Projects Consultants Ltd; Vickers Limited Engineering Group; Rank Strand Electric Ltd; the South Bank Theatre Board; Hall Stage Equipment Ltd; and Denys Lasdun, Redhouse & Softley.
