Manuscript and typescript drafts of poems and songs written by Leila Berg. The file contains a folder of typed poems entitled 'Songs of our Marmalade Girl', with a black and white postcard dated 30 August 1944. A covering note from Leila Berg's daughter, Jenny Ellis, explains that most of these 'songs' were written for and about her, during the Second World War, when Jenny was evacuated to Scotland with her nursery school. The postcard was from one of the Austrian women who ran the nursery school. Some of the poems in the folder are later in date than the 1940s, and Jenny Ellis' covering note identifies which these are.
The file also contains a typescript copy of the lyrics for a humorous song entitled 'So Long as it's Dark', by Leila Berg, with a sheet of manuscript music giving the tune for the song.
