  • John Edward Coulson (1808-86) was born in Newcastle on Tyne, shortly after his father was lost at sea. He was converted at an early age and entered the Wesleyan ministry in 1829. He exercised an active Circuit ministry for forty-five years before ill health compelled him to become a supernumary in Worksop, Nottinghamshire. Source: Minutes of Conference 1886.
