Scope and Content

Following the BBC production of 'I,Claudius' A.P.Watt had to handle an increased volume of requests for translations, republications and broadcasts of Graves's works. File includes, inter alia: ms fragment of poetry on verso of ts text entitled 'Robert Graves - the poet and his times' by Edward Booth-Clibborn, enclosed by ts letter Edward Booth-Clibborn to Michael Horniman (22 October 1973); ms [copy, draft or unsent?] letter from Graves to Michael Horniman (8 January 1971) noting that Julia Simon will send him her edited version of 'Poems 1970-1972'; copy ts letter from Graves to Tom Driberg (c1928) enclosed by cover letter dated 9 December 1976.

Ts letter dated 8 January 1976 and undated letter with torn letterhead, both from A.P.Watt originally filed with material concerning Poland [RG/J/BHW); placed here during cataloguing. Ms [copy, draft or unsent?] letter from Graves to Michael Horniman (8 January 1971) arrived in box 15, "box of bits" [WG ref CC6200].
