Scope and Content

Correspondence concerning the purchase, celebration and use of Graves's manuscripts for the Lockwood Library at the State University of New York at Buffalo (formerly the Lockwood Memorial Library at the University of Buffalo). Correspondents to Robert and Beryl Graves include: David Posner, Charles Abbott, Oscar Silverman, Robert Bertholf, Saktidas Roy, Karl Gay, Dorothy Simmons, Charles Devendorf, Arthur Lacey and Mildred Lacey; and copy correspondence from Graves. The series also contains: certificate of honorary fellowship of the Lockwood Library (1960); seventeen black and white photographs of an exhibition of Gravesiana held at Buffalo in 1965; programme of events for a celebration of Graves's 90th birthday (1985); a bundle of 'Christmas Broadsides' from the Lockwood Library, 1975 to 2000 (incomplete); pamphlet entitled 'The Dedication of Lockwood Memorial Library' (1979); and 'Special Collections of the University Libraries' (Buffalo: SUNY, 1984).
