Janet Adam Smith writes to Graves principally concerning the commissioning and publishing of his poems and book reviews. A final letter from Adam Smith, dated 30 March 1976, cites and asks permission to quote from parts of Graves's correspondence of 1935 with her husband, Michael Roberts, which includes passages about the correct order of pairs of names, such as 'Graves and Riding'.
