Scope and Content

Correspondence inter alia discusses the imprisonment in Turkey of Yaşar and Thilda Kemal in 1971, and includes ts letter from Umit Pamir from the Turkish Embassy in London to Beryl Graves (25 November 1971) and two ts letters from Robert Knittel of Collins Publishers (1 November 1971 and 26 June 1975), the former enclosing copies of letters sent to him by the couple during the time of their imprisonment. The series also includes an ms [copy, draft or unsent?] letter from Graves to Yaşar Kemal (c November 1971).
