Scope and Content

This box contains donations made to the archive by students, staff and other stakeholders connected to Ripon Training College - documents and items which were not collected by the college as part of its day-to-day administration. These donations span the date range 1871-1975.

  • 2 leaflets for Open Day 1968 at Ripon College, donated by Miss K. I. Teasdale
  • Leaflet with menu and toasts for Farewell Dinner on the occasion of the retirement of Miss M. D. Gage, Friday, 4th July, 1975.
  • Booklet for Ceremony of Honouring the Corps of Royal Engineers in the Market Square Ripon on Wednesday, 27th July, 1949, with inscription 'Percival Smith'
  • Leaflet with menu and toasts for St Margaret's Day Luncheon, November 1960, donated by Miss K. I. Teasdale
  • Photographs of service from College Chapel on BBC 1 (22nd October 1968)
  • Photographs: 5 photographs of performance of 'Quality Street' (1932); 1 photo of a performance of 'Yellow Sands' (1931); 1 photo of members of Bolton Corridor (1931-2); college magazine cutting describing Ripon College Coat of Arms (n.d.); accompanying letter of donation (1997).   • Correspondence between Maurice Williams, son of Mrs Eljena [sic?] Mary Williams (nee Ohlson) and Miss M. D. Gage, Principal of the College, regarding the donation of a silver medallion (missing) (1965)
  • Teacher's Certificate of Agnes Campbell Beddows (student 1864-1866) signed by W. E. Forster in 1871.
  • Needlework notebook of Hannah Roberts, nee Cotton (1904-1905), with accompanying letter of donation including reminiscences of the College (1960).
