Scope and Content

Mainly a discussion on the nature of knowledge as a dichotomy between life (what we know) and death (the unknown) discussing this in terms of joy and sorrow, with regard to a poem he has just finished (according to the Selected Letters this poem is 'Many Famous Feet Have Trod', CP, pp. 15 - 18). Also briefly discusses the notion of "art for arts' sake"; and the new Auden book (according to the Selected Letters this is 'For The Time Being'), making reference to 'Poems 1930'. (4pp).
