Scope and Content

Manuscript and typescript drafts of various short stories and short compositions written by Elinor Lyon. The majority of compositions in the file appear to date from circa 1940-1975, before Elinor Lyon and her husband moved to Wales, but at least one story in the file dates from after that period, as a covering letter attached to it indicates it was entered in the 1993 National Federation of Women's Institutes Denman Cup Competition. The file includes two compositions written in French; one short story, 'Lucy on Lark Hill', with black and white line illustrations included; two editions of 'Greyport Magazine', which appears to have been a short magazine produced for the military personnel based at Greystone and Roddan's Port during the Second World War; and one short story, 'Eyes of the Dead', which appears to have been published in 'The New English Weekly', 6 November 1941.
