Scope and Content

Annual reports of inspectors, 1872-1926; duplicate examination schedules, 1879-1892; returns and claims, 1887-1930; miscellanea, including various circulars from the Education Department, agreements for the engagement of pupil teachers, awards for proficiency in drawing syllabus of work and time-table etc; six photographs of pupils and staff, late 19th to early 20th century.

Administrative / Biographical History

Rhos-y Gad Board School (later Council School) in Llanfair Pwllgwyngyll, Anglesey, was reported as being vigorously conducted in 1875 by the Her Majesty's Inspector. In 1912 it was reported that An excellent new School has been built. The playgrounds are extensive, and adequate provision is made for teaching Cookery and Gardening.
