Records include:

(1) Returning Officers returns of names and addresses of persons elected (also date of election & electoral division)

(2) printed lists of aldermen, councillors & officers with names, addresses, year of retirement, committee membership

(3) declarations of acceptance of office of chairmen

(4) declarations of vacancy, notices & certificates of election, resignations of councillors

(5) candidates declaration of election expenses

(6) voting papers and resignations of aldermen

(7) misc corres, orders, circulars (from Local Government Board, etc)

(8) Members' declarations of acceptance of office (from 1910 election)

(9) chairmen's reviews at end of term

NB after local government reform in 1974, the new Council was elected every 4 years
